Bet-Awen
Rumah kesia-siaan; yaitu “rumah berhala”, sebuah tempat di pegunungan Benyamin, sebelah timur Betel (Yosua 7:2; 18:12; 1 Samuel 13:5). Dalam Hosea 4:15; 5:8; 10:5 nama ini mewakili “Betel” (lihat entri tersebut), dan dinamai demikian karena tempat itu bukan lagi “rumah Allah”, melainkan “rumah berhala”, merujuk pada anak-anak lembu yang disembah di sana.
