Yoyada
juga dikenal sebagai Barakhyas
Imam besar pada masa perebutan takhta Yehuda oleh Atalya. Dia menikahi Yosabat, atau Yosebat, anak perempuan Raja Yoram (2 Tawarikh 22:11), dan berperan aktif bersama istrinya dalam menyelamatkan serta mendidik Yoas ketika Atalya membunuh semua keturunan raja Yehuda.
Rencana yang diterapkannya dalam menempatkan kembali Yoas di atas takhta nenek moyangnya dicatat dalam 2 Raja-raja 11:2; 12:2; 2 Tawarikh 22:11; 23:24. Dia termasuk tokoh yang paling berjasa bagi kerajaan itu, dan saat meninggal dia dikuburkan di kota Daud bersama para raja Yehuda (2 Tawarikh 24:15, 16). Dia dikatakan telah berumur seratus tiga puluh tahun.
