Syesyonk I, raja Mesir. Masa pemerintahannya membawa keberhasilan nasional yang besar, dan catatan mengenai perang serta penaklukannya menghiasi serambi yang disebut “raja-raja Bubastis” di Karnak, kota Thebes kuno. Di antara penaklukan-penaklukan tersebut, tercatat pula penaklukan atas Yudea. Pada tahun kelima pemerintahan Rehabeam, Sisak maju menyerang kerajaan Yehuda dengan pasukan yang kuat. Dia merebut kota-kota berbenteng dan sampai ke Yerusalem. Dia menjarah perbendaharaan bait suci dan istana raja, serta merampas perisai-perisai emas yang telah dibuat Salomo (1 Raja-raja 11:40; 14:25; 2 Tawarikh 12:2). Ekspedisi raja Mesir ini dilakukan atas dorongan Yerobeam dengan tujuan merendahkan Yehuda. Permusuhan antara kedua kerajaan itu terus berlanjut; tetapi selama pemerintahan Rehabeam, tidak ada lagi campur tangan dari pihak ketiga.
