Tempat peleburan logam, “bengkel untuk memurnikan dan melebur logam”, sebuah kota kecil Fenisia, sekarang Surafend, sekitar satu mil dari pantai, hampir di tengah-tengah jalan antara Tirus dan Sidon. Di sinilah Elia tinggal bersama seorang janda miskin selama “kelaparan besar”, ketika “langit tertutup selama tiga tahun enam bulan” (Lukas 4:26; 1 Raja-raja 17:10). Tempat ini disebut Sarepta dalam Perjanjian Baru (Lukas 4:26).
