Sodom Destroyed
God destroys the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah with fire and brimstone for their wickedness, rescuing Abraham's nephew Lot and his daughters but turning Lot's wife to a pillar of salt when she looks back (Genesis 19:1-26). The destruction becomes a recurring biblical byword for divine judgment.
