Daniel

Among the Judean nobles taken hostage to Babylon after Nebuchadnezzar's first campaign against Jerusalem was a young man named Daniel, selected for training in the royal court. He resolved not to defile himself with the king's food and gained a reputation for wisdom that outlasted several changes of empire. A vision recorded later in the book describes a kingdom set up by God that would never be destroyed.
