Barukh
Juru tulis nabi Yeremia (32:12; 36:4). Ia berasal dari suku Yehuda (51:59). Kepadanya Yeremia mendiktekan nubuat-nubuatnya mengenai penyerbuan orang Babel dan masa Pembuangan. Nubuat-nubuat ini dibacakannya kepada rakyat dari sebuah jendela di bait suci pada tahun keempat pemerintahan Yoyakim, raja Yehuda (Yeremia 36). Setelah itu, ia membacakannya di hadapan para penasihat raja dalam sebuah pertemuan pribadi; dan kemudian kepada raja sendiri, yang setelah mendengarkan sebagian dari gulungan itu, memotongnya dengan pisau raut dan melemparkannya ke dalam perapian di ruang musim dinginnya, tempat ia sedang duduk.
Selama pengepungan Yerusalem oleh Nebukadnezar, ia menjadi penyimpan surat pembelian tanah milik Hanameel yang dibeli Yeremia (Yeremia 32:12). Karena dituduh oleh musuh-musuhnya berpihak kepada orang Kasdim, ia dijebloskan bersama Yeremia ke dalam penjara, tempat ia tinggal sampai Yerusalem direbut (586 SM). Ia kemungkinan besar meninggal di Babel.
