Ba-rúc
Thư ký của tiên tri Giê-rê-mi (32:12; 36:4). Ông thuộc chi phái Giu-đa (51:59). Giê-rê-mi đã đọc cho ông chép lại các lời tiên tri về cuộc xâm lăng của người Ba-by-lôn và sự Lưu đày. Ông đã đọc những lời này cho dân sự nghe từ một cửa sổ trong đền thờ vào năm thứ tư đời Giê-hô-gia-kim, vua Giu-đa (Giê-rê-mi 36). Sau đó, ông đọc chúng trước các quan mưu sĩ của vua trong một buổi gặp riêng; rồi đọc cho chính vua nghe, nhưng sau khi nghe một phần của cuộn sách, vua đã lấy dao gọt bút cắt đi và ném vào lò lửa trong cung mùa đông nơi vua đang ngồi.
Trong thời gian Nê-bu-cát-nết-xa vây hãm Giê-ru-sa-lem, ông là người giữ tờ khế mua thửa ruộng của Ha-na-mê-ên mà Giê-rê-mi đã mua (Giê-rê-mi 32:12). Bị kẻ thù vu cáo là thiên vị người Canh-đê, ông cùng Giê-rê-mi bị tống vào tù ngục, ở đó cho đến khi Giê-ru-sa-lem thất thủ (năm 586 TCN). Ông có lẽ đã qua đời tại Ba-by-lôn.
