Bet-Sean
Rumah keamanan atau perhentian, sebuah kota kepunyaan suku Manasye (1 Tawarikh 7:29), di sebelah barat Sungai Yordan. Mayat Saul dan anak-anaknya dipakukan pada tembok-temboknya. Pada zaman Salomo, kota ini menjadi nama bagi sebuah distrik (1 Raja-raja 4:12). Nama ini ditemukan dalam bentuk singkat, Bet-San, dalam 1 Samuel 31:10, 12 dan 2 Samuel 21:12. Kota ini terletak di jalan dari Yerusalem menuju Damsyik, sekitar 8 kilometer dari Sungai Yordan, dan 22 kilometer dari ujung selatan Danau Genesaret. Setelah masa Pembuangan, kota ini disebut Skitopolis, yaitu “kota orang Skit,” yang sekitar 640 SM turun dari padang rumput stepa Rusia Selatan dan menetap di berbagai tempat di Siria. Sekarang tempat ini disebut Beisan.
