Bết-Sê-an
Nhà của sự an ninh hay yên nghỉ, một thành thuộc về Ma-na-se (1 Sử-ký 7:29), ở phía tây sông Giô-đanh. Thi thể của Sau-lơ và các con trai ông đã bị treo vào tường thành này. Vào thời Sa-lô-môn, thành này được dùng để đặt tên cho một khu vực (1 Các Vua 4:12). Tên này được thấy ở dạng rút gọn là Bết-san trong 1 Sa-mu-ên 31:10, 12 và 2 Sa-mu-ên 21:12. Thành nằm trên con đường từ Giê-ru-sa-lem đến Đa-mách, cách sông Giô-đanh khoảng 5 dặm và cách đầu phía nam của Biển Ghen-nê-xa-rết 14 dặm. Sau thời kỳ Lưu đày, thành được gọi là Scythopolis, tức là “thành của người Sy-thia”, những người vào khoảng năm 640 TCN đã từ các thảo nguyên miền nam nước Nga tràn xuống định cư tại nhiều nơi khác nhau ở Sy-ri. Nay được gọi là Beisan.
