Sebuah jurang, kota kerajaan Kanaan kuno (Yosua 10:33; 12:12). Kota ini ditentukan bersama padang-padang penggembalaannya bagi orang Lewi puak Kehat (Yosua 21:21; 1 Tawarikh 6:67). Kota ini terletak di antara Bet-Horon Hilir dan laut (Yosua 16:3; 1 Raja-raja 9:17). Ini adalah titik terakhir Daud mengejar orang Filistin (2 Samuel 5:25; 1 Tawarikh 14:16) setelah pertempuran Baal-Perasim. Orang Kanaan tetap menguasainya sampai zaman Salomo, ketika raja Mesir merebutnya dan memberikannya kepada Salomo sebagai bagian dari maskawin putri Mesir yang dinikahinya (1 Raja-raja 9:15-17). Kota ini diidentifikasi dengan Tell el-Jezer, sekitar 16 km sebelah barat daya Bet-Horon. Kota ini disebutkan dalam prasasti-prasasti Amarna.
