Horeb
Padang gurun atau gunung tanah kering, sebuah nama umum untuk seluruh pegunungan yang salah satu puncaknya adalah Sinai (Keluaran 3:1; 17:6; 33:6; Mazmur 106:19, dll.). Nama modern untuk seluruh pegunungan ini adalah Jebel Musa. Ini adalah gugusan gunung yang sangat besar, panjangnya sekitar 2 mil dan lebarnya sekitar 1 mil, dengan dataran yang sangat luas di ujung timur lautnya, yang disebut Er Rahah, tempat orang Israel berkemah selama hampir satu tahun penuh.
