Mikhmas
Sesuatu yang tersembunyi, sebuah kota di Benyamin (Ezra 2:27), di sebelah timur Betel dan sebelah selatan Migron, di jalan menuju Yerusalem (Yesaya 10:28). Kota ini terletak pada jalur pergerakan tentara penyerbu dari utara, di sisi utara Wadi es-Suweinit yang curam dan terjal (“lembah pohon duri kecil” atau “akasia”), dan sekarang menyandang nama Mukhmas. Lembah ini disebut “celah Mikhmas” (1 Samuel 13:23). Tepat berhadapan dengan Mukhmas, di seberang jurang, terletak padanan modern dari Geba, dan di belakangnya lagi adalah Rama dan Gibea.
Tempat ini merupakan lokasi pertempuran besar antara pasukan Saul dan orang Filistin, yang dipukul kalah telak dan dikejar sekitar 16 mil ke arah Filistia sampai ke lembah Ayalon. “Kemerdekaan Benyamin yang terjamin di Mikhmas membawa kemerdekaan bagi seluruh suku saudaranya melalui konflik bertahun-tahun.” Kekuatan Benyamin dan rajanya kini terus meningkat. Semangat baru dan harapan baru kini bekerja di Israel.
