Ofir
Suatu wilayah yang terkenal dengan emasnya (1 Raja-raja 9:28; 10:11; 22:48; Ayub 22:24; 28:16; Yesaya 13:12). Dalam Septuaginta kata ini diterjemahkan sebagai “Sofir”, dan “Sofir” adalah nama Koptik untuk India, yang juga merupakan terjemahan versi Arab serta Vulgata. Yosefus mengidentifikasikannya dengan Golden Chersonese, yaitu Semenanjung Malaya. Sekarang tempat ini umumnya diidentifikasikan dengan Abhira di muara Sungai Indus. Namun, banyak bukti yang mendukung pendapat bahwa tempat ini berada di suatu tempat di Semenanjung Arab.
