Paran
Penuh dedaunan, atau berlimpah gua, (Kejadian 21:21), sebuah wilayah padang belantara yang membentuk bagian timur laut Semenanjung Sinai, terletak di antara Araba di sebelah timur dan Padang Belantara Syur di sebelah barat. Wilayah ini terpotong ke arah barat laut oleh Wadi el-Arisy. Daerah ini menyandang nama modern Badiet et-Tih, yaitu “padang belantara pengembaraan”. Daerah ini, tempat orang-orang Israel mengembara, terletak sejauh tiga hari perjalanan dari Sinai (Bilangan 10:12, 33). Dari Kadesh di padang belantara ini, para pengintai (lihat) diutus untuk mengintai negeri itu (Bilangan 13:3, 26). Di sini pula, jauh di kemudian hari, Daud mencari perlindungan dari kejaran Saul (1 Samuel 25:1, 4).
