Pha-ran
Nhiều cây lá, hoặc nhiều hang động, (Sáng-thế Ký 21:21), một vùng sa mạc tạo thành phần đông bắc của bán đảo Si-na-i, nằm giữa A-ra-ba ở phía đông và đồng vắng Su-rơ ở phía tây. Vùng này bị cắt ngang theo hướng tây bắc bởi Wady el-‘Arish. Nó mang tên hiện đại là Badiet et-Tih, nghĩa là “sa mạc của những cuộc lưu lạc”. Vùng này, nơi con cái Y-sơ-ra-ên đã đi lang thang, cách Si-na-i ba ngày đường (Dân-số Ký 10:12, 33). Từ Ca-đe trong đồng vắng này, các thám tử (xem mục này) đã được phái đi do thám xứ (Dân-số Ký 13:3, 26). Rất lâu sau đó, Đa-vít đã tìm nơi ẩn náu tại đây để tránh Sau-lơ (1 Sa-mu-ên 25:1, 4).
