Enoch taken up
Genesis says of Enoch, an ancestor of Noah, that he "walked with God: and he was not; for God took him" (Genesis 5:24), read since ancient times as meaning he was taken to heaven without dying. Hebrews 11:5 cites this as an example of faith.
