A Levite gatekeeper of the temple, head of a family of porters who returned from exile with Zerubbabel (1 Chronicles 9:17; Ezra 2:42; Nehemiah 7:45). His descendants continued serving as gatekeepers in Nehemiah's time (Nehemiah 11:19; 12:25).
