Jerusalem
SimonHerod Agrippa I had the apostle James, brother of John, executed by the sword to please the Jerusalem crowd, then arrested Peter during the feast of Unleavened Bread. Acts describes an angel waking Peter in his cell, loosing his chains, and leading him past sleeping guards and a barred gate that swung open on its own. Peter made his way to the house of Mary, mother of John Mark, where believers had gathered to pray for him.
