Yakobus
Anak Zebedeus dan Salome; kakak dari rasul Yohanes. Dia adalah salah satu dari kedua belas rasul. Pekerjaannya adalah nelayan, bermitra dengan Petrus (Matius 20:20; 27:56). Bersama Yohanes dan Petrus, dia hadir pada peristiwa transfigurasi (Matius 17:1; Markus 9:2), pembangkitan anak perempuan Yairus (Markus 5:37-43), dan di taman bersama Tuhan kita (Markus 14:33). Mungkin karena keberanian dan semangat mereka, dia dan Yohanes dijuluki Boanerges, yaitu “anak-anak guruh”. Dia adalah martir pertama di antara para rasul, setelah dipenggal kepalanya oleh Raja Herodes Agripa (Kisah Para Rasul 12:1, 2), 44 M. (Bandingkan Matius 4:21; 20:20-23).
