Yoas
Anak Raja Ahazia. Ketika masih bayi, dia diselamatkan dari pembantaian massal keluarganya oleh bibinya, Yoseba, dan tampaknya merupakan satu-satunya keturunan Salomo yang selamat (2 Tawarikh 21:4, 17). Pamannya, Imam Besar Yoyada, memperkenalkannya kepada khalayak ramai ketika dia berusia delapan tahun, lalu memahkotai dan mengurapinya sebagai raja Yehuda dengan upacara yang lazim. Atalya terkejut saat mendengar sorak-sorai rakyat, “Hiduplah raja!”; dan ketika dia muncul di bait suci, Yoyada memerintahkan agar dia dibawa keluar untuk dihukum mati (2 Raja-raja 11:13-20). Selama imam besar itu hidup, Yehoas mendukung ibadah kepada Allah dan menaati hukum Taurat; tetapi setelah kematiannya, dia menyimpang ke jalan yang jahat, dan negeri itu dicemari dengan penyembahan berhala. Zakharia, anak sekaligus penerus imam besar itu, dihukum mati. Perbuatan-perbuatan jahat ini mendatangkan penghakiman Allah atas negeri itu, dan negeri itu ditindas oleh para penyerbu Aram. Dia adalah salah satu dari tiga raja yang dilewati oleh Matius (2 Raja-raja 1:8) dalam silsilah Kristus, dua lainnya adalah Ahazia dan Amazia. Dia dikuburkan di kota Daud (2 Raja-raja 12:21).
