Signing in
Signing in is optional and uses YouVersion. We store your name, email address and profile image from YouVersion, along with session records.
Highlights
Highlights are stored in your browser and copied to your YouVersion account when you are signed in.
Feedback
We store the message, reason, page it came from and submission time. An email address is optional and used only to reply.
Embedded pages
When an embed runs on another site, we record the event, which embed ran, the host site origin and a random ID for that browser tab. We do not store the IP address, user agent or a cookie for embed usage.
Browser storage
Cookies store your chosen Bible translation, language and sign-in session. IndexedDB stores highlights. Session storage holds an embed tab ID and a one-time sign-in flag. These are not used for advertising or tracking.
Hosting and search
Our hosting provider keeps short-lived request logs, including IP addresses, to operate the service. Text sent to semantic search is processed by our hosting provider's AI service to create embeddings.
API and MCP
Requests to /api/v1 and /mcp need no account. We store no request data beyond our hosting provider's request logs. MCP tools read public Bible Atlas data.
Ads and analytics
Bible Atlas shows no ads, uses no third-party analytics or tracking scripts, and does not sell or share personal data outside the processors named above.
Questions and deletion
Use the contact page to ask a question, see your personal data or request its deletion. We will delete account and session data, and feedback you identify, on request.
