Một trong các thị trấn do chi phái Gát xây cất (Dân-số Ký 32:34) “đối ngang Ráp-ba” (Giô-suê 13:25), tức thủ đô của dân Am-môn. Thị trấn này nổi tiếng trong lịch sử liên quan đến Giép-thê (Các Quan Xét 11:33) và Đa-vít (2 Sa-mu-ên 24:5). (So sánh Ê-sai 17:2; 2 Các Vua 15:29.)
