Gô-mô-rơ
Chìm ngập, một trong năm thành phố thuộc đồng bằng Si-điêm (xem mục này) bị lửa thiêu hủy (Sáng-thế Ký 10:19; 13:10; 19:24, 28). Các thành này có lẽ nằm gần nhau, và ở gần đầu phía bắc của vùng Biển Chết ngày nay. Thành này luôn được nhắc đến ngay sau Sô-đôm, và cả hai đều là biểu trưng của sự bất kính và gian ác (Sáng-thế Ký 18:20; Rô-ma 9:29). Sự hủy diệt của chúng được nhắc đến như “gương răn cho những kẻ sống không tin kính về sau” (2 Phi-e-rơ 2:6; Giu-đe 1:4-7). Sự gian ác của chúng đã trở thành câu châm ngôn (Phục-truyền Luật-lệ Ký 32:32; Ê-sai 1:9, 10; Giê-rê-mi 23:14). Nhưng sự gian ác ấy vẫn có thể bị vượt qua (Ma-thi-ơ 10:15; Mác 6:11).
