Chồng của Mi-ri-am, chị của Môi-se (Xuất Ê-díp-tô Ký 17:10-12). Ông cùng A-rôn chịu trách nhiệm coi sóc dân chúng khi Môi-se vắng mặt trên núi Si-na-i (Xuất Ê-díp-tô Ký 24:14). Ông có lẽ thuộc chi phái Giu-đa, và là ông nội của Bết-sa-lê-ên (Xuất Ê-díp-tô Ký 31:2; 35:30; 1 Sử-ký 2:19).
