Tuôn ra, hoặc vật lộn, một trong những dòng suối ở phía đông sông Giô-đanh, đổ vào sông Giô-đanh ở khoảng giữa Biển Ga-li-lê và Biển Chết, hoặc cách Biển Ga-li-lê khoảng 45 dặm về phía nam. Dòng suối bắt nguồn ở sườn phía đông của các ngọn núi Ga-la-át, và chảy dài khoảng 65 dặm trong một khe núi hoang vu và sâu thẳm. Đây là ranh giới giữa lãnh thổ của dân Am-môn và của Óc, vua Ba-san (Giô-suê 12:1-5; Dân-số Ký 21:24); cũng như giữa chi phái Ru-bên và nửa chi phái Ma-na-se (Dân-số Ký 21:24; Phục-truyền Luật-lệ Ký 3:16). Trên đường chảy về phía tây qua các đồng bằng, dòng chảy có hơn một lần đi ngầm dưới lòng đất. “Phong cảnh dọc hai bờ khe có lẽ đẹp như tranh vẽ nhất ở Pa-lét-tin; và tàn tích của các thị trấn, làng mạc và pháo đài rải rác trên sườn núi xung quanh làm cho vùng đất này vừa thú vị vừa xinh đẹp.” Con sông này ngày nay được gọi là Zerka, hay sông xanh.
