Su-cốt
Một thành phố ở phía đông sông Giô-đanh, được xác định là Tell Dar’ala, một gò đất cao gồm đống đổ nát trên đồng bằng phía bắc sông Gia-bốc và cách sông khoảng một dặm (Giô-suê 13:27). Tại đây, Gia-cốp (Sáng-thế Ký 32:17, 30; Sáng-thế Ký 33:17), khi trở về từ Pha-đan-A-ram sau cuộc gặp gỡ với Ê-sau, đã cất một căn nhà cho mình và làm các lều trại cho súc vật. Các quan trưởng của thành này đã thô lỗ từ chối giúp đỡ Ghê-đê-ôn cùng 300 người của ông khi họ “mệt nhọc nhưng vẫn đuổi theo” một toán quân Ma-đi-an trốn chạy sau chiến thắng lớn tại Ghinh-bô-a. Sau khi đuổi kịp và đánh tan toán quân này tại Cạt-cô, Ghê-đê-ôn khi trở về đã giáng hình phạt nặng nề lên những người cai trị thành. “Người bèn bắt các trưởng lão của thành, lấy gai góc nơi đồng vắng và chông chà mà dạy cho dân Su-cốt một bài học” (Các Quan Xét 8:13-16). Tại nơi đây, các xưởng đúc kim loại phục vụ cho đền thờ đã được dựng lên (1 Các Vua 7:46).
