Một trong “năm thành của đồng bằng” Sô-đôm, thường được nhắc cùng với Át-ma (Sáng-thế Ký 10:19; 14:2; Phục-truyền Luật-lệ Ký 29:23; Ô-sê 11:8). Thành này có vua riêng (Sê-mê-bê), và do đó là một nơi khá quan trọng. Thành đã bị tiêu diệt cùng với các thành khác trong đồng bằng.
