Abrahamic Covenant
God calls Abram to leave his homeland for a land he will show him, promising to make him into a great nation, bless him, and bless all the families of the earth through him (Genesis 12:1-3). This covenant, later confirmed and expanded (Genesis 15, 17), underlies the Bible's larger story of Israel and, in the New Testament, is read as reaching its fulfillment in Christ (Galatians 3:16).
