Person
Cozbi
Cozbi was a Midianite woman killed, along with the Israelite man Zimri, by the priest Phinehas after Zimri brought her into the Israelite camp in open defiance of Moses during a plague brought on by Israel's involvement with Baal worship (Numbers 25:1-15). Phinehas's act is credited with stopping the plague and earns him a covenant of lasting priesthood.
