Epaphroditus carried the Philippian church's financial support to Paul during his imprisonment and became so ill in the process that he nearly died. Paul's letter to the Philippians commends him warmly and sends him home once he recovers, asking the church to honor him for risking his life in their service (Philippians 2:25-30).
