Iddo was the grandfather of the prophet Zechariah, who is identified in his own book as "Zechariah the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo" (Zechariah 1:1). Ezra pairs Zechariah with Haggai as the prophets who urged the returned exiles to finish rebuilding the temple (Ezra 5:1; 6:14).
