Mount Moriah is named in Genesis as the place where God tested Abraham by commanding him to sacrifice his son Isaac, before providing a ram in his place (Genesis 22:2). 2 Chronicles 3:1 identifies it as the site where Solomon later built the temple in Jerusalem.
