Nahash
Nahash was a king of the Ammonites who had once shown David kindness. When Nahash died, David sent envoys to console his son Hanun, who humiliated them by shaving off half their beards and cutting off their garments, an insult that triggered a war between Israel and the Ammonites (2 Samuel 10:1-6).
