Parosh was the ancestor of a family of Israelites who returned from Babylonian exile with Zerubbabel, numbering 2,172 according to both Ezra and Nehemiah's counts (Ezra 2:3; Nehemiah 7:8). Some of his descendants are later listed among those who had married foreign wives (Ezra 10:25).
