A-sa
Thầy thuốc, con trai của A-bi-gia và cháu nội của Rô-bô-am, là vị vua thứ ba của Giu-đa. Ông sốt sắng trong việc giữ gìn sự thờ phượng chân thật đối với Đức Chúa Trời, và diệt trừ mọi sự thờ hình tượng cùng những điều vô luân đi kèm ra khỏi xứ (1 Các Vua 15:8-14). Đức Giê-hô-va ban cho ông và xứ sở sự an nghỉ cùng sự thịnh vượng. Tuy nhiên, Kinh Thánh ghi lại rằng khi về già và mắc bệnh, ông “chẳng tìm kiếm Đức Giê-hô-va, bèn cầu các thầy thuốc” (so sánh Giê-rê-mi 17:5). Ông qua đời vào năm thứ bốn mươi mốt đời trị vì của mình, được dân chúng hết lòng tôn kính (2 Sử-ký 16:1-13), và con trai ông là Giô-sa-phát lên kế vị.
