Đức Chúa Jêsus nuôi một đoàn dân khoảng năm ngàn người nam, chưa kể đàn bà và con trẻ, chỉ từ năm cái bánh và hai con cá, thu lại được mười hai giỏ đầy miếng vụn sau đó. Đây là phép lạ duy nhất ngoài sự phục sinh được ghi lại trong cả bốn sách Phúc Âm (Ma-thi-ơ 14:13-21; Mác 6:30-44; Lu-ca 9:10-17; Giăng 6:1-14).
