Gô-sen
Một khu vực ở Ê-díp-tô nơi Gia-cốp và gia đình ông định cư, và họ ở lại đó cho đến cuộc Xuất hành (Sáng-thế Ký 45:10; 46:28, 29, 31, v.v.). Vùng này được gọi là “xứ Gô-sen” (Sáng-thế Ký 47:27), và đơn giản là “Gô-sen” (Sáng-thế Ký 46:28), cũng như “xứ Ra-bam-sết” (Sáng-thế Ký 47:11; Xuất Ê-díp-tô Ký 12:37), vì các thành Phi-thom và Ra-bam-sết nằm trong ranh giới của xứ; ngoài ra còn có Xô-an hay Ta-nít (Thi-thiên 78:12). Nơi này nằm ở phía đông sông Nin, và dường như không xa nơi ở của hoàng gia. Đó là “vùng đất tốt nhất” (Sáng-thế Ký 47:6, 11), nhưng ngày nay là một sa mạc. Xứ được nhắc đến lần đầu trong lời nhắn của Giô-sép gửi cho cha mình. Nơi này được xác định là Wady Tumilat ngày nay, nằm giữa phần phía đông của vùng Đồng bằng châu thổ và biên giới phía tây của Ca-na-an. Đó là một vùng chăn thả gia súc, nơi nuôi một số bầy súc vật của vua (Sáng-thế Ký 47:6). Cư dân ở đây không chỉ gồm riêng người Y-sơ-ra-ên (Xuất Ê-díp-tô Ký 3:22; 11:2; 12:35, 36).
