Rừng cây, một thành viên nổi bật của Hội thánh tại Giê-ru-sa-lem; cũng được gọi là Sin-vanh. Ông và Giu-đe, biệt danh là Ba-sa-ba, được Hội thánh tại đó chọn để đi cùng Phao-lô và Ba-na-ba khi họ trở lại An-ti-ốt từ hội đồng các sứ đồ và trưởng lão (Công-vụ các Sứ-đồ 15:22), mang theo nghị quyết do hội đồng thông qua. Ông đã hỗ trợ Phao-lô trong công việc truyền giáo tại đó, và cũng được Phao-lô chọn làm bạn đồng hành trong chuyến hành trình truyền giáo thứ hai (Công-vụ các Sứ-đồ 16:19-24). Ông được nhắc đến trong các thư tín dưới tên Sin-vanh (2 Cô-rinh-tô 1:19; 1 Tê-sa-lô-ni-ca 1:1; 2 Tê-sa-lô-ni-ca 1:1; 1 Phi-e-rơ 5:12). Không có ghi chép nào về thời gian hay địa điểm ông qua đời.
