Si-ôn
Nắng ấm; nơi cao, một trong những ngọn đồi nơi thành Giê-ru-sa-lem được xây dựng. Nơi đây được bao quanh mọi phía trừ phía bắc bởi các thung lũng sâu; thung lũng Tyropoeon (xem mục này) ngăn cách nó với đồi Mô-ri-a (xem mục này), và nó cao hơn đồi Mô-ri-a 105 bộ (khoảng 32 mét). Đây là ngọn đồi phía đông nam của Giê-ru-sa-lem.
Khi Đa-vít chiếm lấy nơi này từ tay dân Giê-bu (Giô-suê 15:63; 2 Sa-mu-ên 5:7), ông đã xây dựng một đồn lũy cùng một cung điện tại đó, và nơi ấy trở thành “thành Đa-vít” (1 Các Vua 8:1; 2 Các Vua 19:21, 31; 1 Sử-ký 11:5). Trong các sách sau này của Cựu Ước, tên này đôi khi được dùng (Thi-thiên 87:2; 149:2; Ê-sai 33:14; Giô-ên 2:1) để chỉ chung thành Giê-ru-sa-lem, và đôi khi để chỉ dân Y-sơ-ra-ên được Đức Chúa Trời chọn lựa (Thi-thiên 51:18; 87:5).
Trong Tân Ước, tên này đôi khi được dùng để chỉ Hội Thánh của Đức Chúa Trời (Hê-bơ-rơ 12:22), và đôi khi để chỉ thành trên trời (Khải-huyền 14:1).
