Benaiah the Pirathonite, one of David's mighty men (2 Samuel 23:30; 1 Chronicles 11:31). He commanded the eleventh division of David's army, 24,000 strong, in the eleventh month (1 Chronicles 27:14). Distinct from Benaiah son of Jehoiada, the more prominent mighty man and later commander under Solomon.
