Simeon
Anak laki-laki kedua Yakub dari Lea (Kejadian 29:33). Ia bersekutu dengan Lewi dalam tindakan pembalasan yang kejam terhadap Hemor dan orang-orang Sikhem (Kejadian 34:25, 26). Ia ditahan oleh Yusuf di Mesir sebagai sandera (Kejadian 42:24). Ayahnya, menjelang ajal, mengucapkan kutuk atasnya (Kejadian 49:5-7). Kata-kata dalam Authorized Version (Kejadian 49:6), “they digged down a wall,” seharusnya diterjemahkan, sebagaimana dengan tepat diterjemahkan dalam Revised Version, “they houghed an ox” (mereka melumpuhkan lembu).
