Tribe of Zebulun

Zebulun was a son of Jacob and Leah whose tribe settled near trade routes in the north, with Jacob's blessing describing it as living by the seashore and serving as a haven for ships (Genesis 49:13). Zebulun's territory, alongside Naphtali's, is named in Isaiah's prophecy of a great light dawning on Galilee, which Matthew connects to the start of Jesus's ministry there (Isaiah 9:1-2; Matthew 4:13-16).
