Mount Seir is the mountainous region south and east of the Dead Sea that became the homeland of Esau's descendants, the Edomites, after Esau settled there (Genesis 36:8). Its rugged terrain shows up repeatedly in prophecies of judgment against Edom, including Ezekiel 35.
