Cơn Đại Hồng Thủy
Đức Chúa Trời phán xét một thế gian bại hoại và hung bạo bằng cách làm ngập lụt cả đất, chỉ cứu sống Nô-ê, gia đình ông và các loài sinh vật được gom vào chiếc tàu mà ông được chỉ dẫn đóng (Sáng-thế Ký 6-8). Về sau, Đức Chúa Trời hứa sẽ không bao giờ hủy diệt trái đất bằng nạn lụt nữa, và lập cầu vồng làm dấu chứng cho lời hứa ấy (Sáng-thế Ký 9:8-17).
