A-se
Hạnh phúc, con trai thứ tám của Gia-cốp; mẹ ông là Xinh-ba, đòi của Lê-a (Sáng-thế Ký 30:13). Về chi phái do ông sáng lập, không có gì được ghi lại ngoài việc có tên trong danh sách các chi phái (Sáng-thế Ký 35:26; Sáng-thế Ký 46:17; Xuất Ê-díp-tô Ký 1:4, v.v.). Chi phái này gia tăng 29 phần trăm số lượng trong suốt 38 năm lưu lạc. Vị trí của chi phái này khi hành quân qua đồng vắng là ở giữa Đan và Nép-ta-li (Dân-số Ký 2:27). Ranh giới phần cơ nghiệp được ban cho họ, bao gồm một số vùng đất màu mỡ nhất ở Pa-lét-tin, và tên các thành của họ được ghi lại trong Giô-suê 19:24-31; Các Quan Xét 1:31, 32. A-se và Si-mê-ôn là hai chi phái duy nhất ở phía tây sông Giô-đanh không xuất hiện vị anh hùng hay quan xét nào cho dân tộc. Nữ tiên tri An-ne thuộc về chi phái này (Lu-ca 2:36).
